direction的用法和短语

1. 表示“方向”或“方面”，是可数名词，注意它与介词的搭配。

(1)与介词in搭配，表示“朝……方向”“在……方面”。如：

She went off in the opposite direction. 她往相反的方向走了。

另外，注意in the direction of（朝……的方向，相当于towards）和in *** ’s direction（朝某人的方向，相当于towards *** ）这两个搭配。如：

He is walking in the direction of the police station. 他正朝警察局的方向走去。

(2)与介词from搭配，表示“从……方向”“从……方面”。如：

No further sound came from that direction. 从那个方向没传来更多声音。

2. 表示“指导”或“指挥”，是不可数名词。表示“在……的指导下”，与介词 under 连用。如：

We work under his direction. 我们在他的指导下工作。

3. 表示“指示”“指引”“用法说明”等，通常要用复数形式。如：

He gave us directions to the railway station. 他告诉我们去车站怎么走。

有时表示邮件上的“姓名地址”，此时也要用复数形式。如：
